HOT TIPS For Cold Pipes

The key to protecting your pipes during a winter freeze is Wrap, Drip and Turn it off!

Before a freeze:

*Wrap all exposed pipes located outside or in unheated areas of your home,     including the attic.

*Cover vents around the foundation of your home

*Insulate faucets with hard foam covers or wrap with cloth or paper

*Remove garden hoses from outside faucets

In sub-freezing weather:

*Drip hot and cold water slowly from inside faucets

*Open cabinet doors under sinks on outside walls

If you're going away for several days:

*Turn off water at your private valve and drain all outside water faucets or

*Leave your home heating system on a low setting

Know where your private water cut-off valves are located
